Counseling Fee Schedule at Counseling the Lord's Way

Counseling, Coaching and Mediation do cost money, time and commitment. They are not cheap,
but the cost of not pursuing them and dedicating money and your effort to them can be much more costly in terms of family life, personal illness, marital discord or termination, loss of jobs and pay, social ostracism, spiritual and mental health and sometimes even loss of life. Charges differ between counselors, coaches and mediators depending on education, experience and other factors. We at Counseling the Lord's Way try to keep our cost fair so that anyone can obtain the service they need and want. If you are put off by the costs, it is important to consider the costs of not making the sacrifices of money and time, as well as the potential gain you could receive if you achieve the life you seek and that God wants you to have.

New Fee Schedule

Beginning October 1, 2009 we are using a new fee schedule that will substitute for our Sliding Scale Fee. All New Counselees will pay the initial Intake Fee of $145. After the first session which includes in-processing and testing counselees will pay by donation any amount they think is appropriate for the services provided. We of course suggest our regular fee of $90, but will accept any amount that the counselee can afford, feels is fair and that God guides them to give. We feel this is a more Godly way of approaching our counseling process than using set fees.
So far we have found that we due to the generosity of our clients we can satisfactorily make our overhead and a modest income using this procedure, we will continue this as long as it works for us. If we find that clients are not able to support the practice with adequate gifts we will return to the old pricing fee schedule. The Fees for Mediation and for Coaching are unchanged at this time, see the fee schedule for these below. Payments may be made by personal or company checks, cash or credit card and will preferable be paid at the beginning of each session. We do not accept money orders at this time. Counseling Fee Schedule

Prior to the above change in charges we operated under a fixed fee schedule. The initial visit was $130.00 as it is now. After that, the normal charge was $90 per 50 minute session payable at the beginning of the session. We offered discounts on a sliding scale based on the weekly family income. We also offered pro bono services for ministers and counselors for a brief counseling session or special concerns. Payments may be made by personal or company checks, cash or credit card and will preferable be paid at the beginning of each session. We do not accept money orders at this time. If at any time the new fee schedule above ceases to provide adequate income to run the business we will revert to our old fee schedule below.

Insurance

We do not participate in any managed care plans or have agreements with any insurance carriers at this time. All payments are by cash, credit card or check.

Fees for Mediation

Normally our mediation fee is a single, lump sum charge to be paid half by each party prior to the beginning of face to face mediation. Our current fee for two party mediation is $500. The fee can be paid by company or personal check, credit card or in cash. A typical mediation lasts less than 6 hours. When a mediation exceeds that time period or additional sessions are required an additional fee will be assessed. The additional charge is $100 per hour with a 3 hour minimum. Thus, if an additional session is required $300 minimum will be charged with each party paying half and additional hours will be charged at the hourly rate.

For highly complex mediations or ones with multiple parties, the fees will be negotiated in advance as part of the Agreement to Mediate. The normal fees or other agreed upon mediation fees pay only for the service of the mediator. Charges for bringing in outside consultants, or experts will be separate charges and will paid by the parties to the mediation.
