About Dr. Wayne Dr. Wayne Coussens, is a Commissioned Minister of Pastoral Counseling and is Board Certified by the American Board of Christian Counselors as a Board Certified Christian Counselor and Board Certified Biblical Counselor. He holds the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Psychology along with a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Psychology from the University of Mississippi as well as a second Ph.D. in Clinical Christian Counseling from Cornerstone University, Lake Charles, LA. His Bachelors degree in Psychology is from Wake Forest University. Dr. Wayne is Licensed by the National Christian Counselors Association as a Licensed Clinical Christian Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor. He holds a certificate as a Certified Temperament Counselor, a Professional Life Coach, and Certified Christian Mediator for Families and Individuals. Dr. Wayne has achieved Advanced Board Certification in Christian Sexual Therapy from the National Christian Counselors Association. He is a member of the Shirley Hills Baptist Church in Warner Robins, GA and has his Ministerial credentials from the National Conservative Christian Church. Dr. Coussens has served on the teaching staff of the University of Mississippi, University of Mississippi Extension Service, Hawaii School of Professional Psychology, Georgia College and State University, Mercer University and College Hill Academy. He has also served as Research Psychologist and Major in the U.S. Army. He has publications in basic and applied psychology in a variety of professional journals. Dr. Wayne has been involved in some aspect of coaching for over 40 years stretching from coaching youth sports, to Leadership and Excellence coaching for Colonels and Generals in the U.S. Army Medical and Medical Service Corps. He is an AACC Certified Professional Life Coach with Advance Training in Professional Life Coaching. He also holds certification as a Christian Mediator for Individuals, Groups, Families and Churches. Dr. Wayne has been married to Dr. Patricia Coussens for over 39 years. Dr. Patricia, better know as Dr. C, is an Obstetrician Gynecologist and has had a solo medical practice at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, GA for over 22 years. The Coussens live in Perry GA and have five grown sons, Chris, Kevin, Brandon, Brian and Patrick. Dr. Wayne is dedicated to the Ministry of Pastoral Counseling, Christian Mediation and Professional Life Coaching. He views his Ministry as God's calling for service to fellow Christians who are suffering in a fallen world. He sees the stand alone Pastoral Counseling Center as an answer to the counseling needs of both the unchurched and those who wish to seek counseling outside of their home church and who understand the need to keep Christ in the solution to all of life's problems. "Pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart." 2 Timothy 2:22 Counseling the Lord's Way was established in Warner Robins in 2006 moving from Hawkinsville, GA, when Dr. Wayne, recognizing the growing need for Christian Counselors in this area, decided to take the practice from a very part time counseling to a full-time operation. This is still a growing practice and will continue to grow as it becomes better known in the area. In addition to face to face counseling, in 2008 we added eCounseling through eCounseling.com and now have telephone, chat and email counseling available for our clients. Counseling the Lord's Way is located conveniently on Russell Parkway in Warner Robins, GA, halfway between Lake Joy Road and GA Highway 41 on the South side of the road in the Office/storage unit complex "Simply Self Storage".
